incentives. These include exemption from import duties on building materials,
equipment, designated raw materials and real property tax.
There are no legal impediments to the free flow of corporate profits, dividends,
interest and royalties from The Bahamas to any international destination.
Most
goods manufactured or processed on the islands have duty-free access to the
markets of the U.S., Canada and the European Union (EU) under the Caribbean
Basin Initiative, the Lome IV Agreement and Canadas CARIBCAN program.
The Bahamas has a modern transportation infrastructure, including the ports
at Nassau and Freeport and six major airports, and state-of-the- art telecommunications
Bahamians are friendly, well-educated and loyal workers. The adult literacy
rate is 95% and improvements have been made in technical and vocational training
in the educational system to ensure that skilled labor is available for light
